February 7 - Matthew 26

on Monday, February 7, 2011

I guess you realized as you looked at the schedule that there is no reading on the weekends.  But it's Monday, so let's get back into the Word.  I love our new song that says, "From the page to your heart, God's word is where you are.  Read it now and your life will change."  That is my heart's desire for you all, that you realize this is God's love letter to you.  Everything you need to know to be successful in life and prepared for eternity is right there in your hands.

In today's reading, I was struck by the responses of the different individuals.  Did you notice:

  • Mary Magdalene was concerned about what she could give.
  • Judas was concerned about what he would get.
  • Jesus asked the disciples to remember and to pray.
  • The disciples left.
  • Peter forgot.
  • The chief priests and the Sanhedrin's charges were false.
  • Jesus spoke the truth.
  • Peter denied the one he said he would die for.
How you and I respond to Jesus is our choice.  What could Christ write about how I responded to Him today?
