Well, you have accepted my challenge! I pray each of you will commit yourself to taking on this new discipline in your spiritual life. I pray in years to come you will be able to look back on this time as a marker in your spiritual journey. This is an investment that will pay eternal dividends if you will commit yourself.
You can click here for reading the New Testament in a year. It will be in the paraphrase of the Message. You can click here for the New International Version.
We begin tomorrow! I encourage you to decide on a regular time each day when you will have your Bible study/quiet time. Begin by praying that the Lord will speak to you and show you what He wants you to learn for that day. Then read and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you. Ask yourself these three questions:
- What is the main message?
- What is the lesson?
- How can I apply this to my life today?
Please visit the blog and post a comment each day your read. It doesn't have to be anything long. I would love to hear some of the lessons you are learning and how you are applying God's word to your life.
I'm excited for you because I know God is going to become so much more real to you. He so desires to speak personally to you.
Hebrews 4:12 - God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon's scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God's Word. We can't get away from it—no matter what. (The Message)
See you HERE tomrrow! (WHO will be the first to post??)

I can apply this section that I read to my life because I know that Jesus and God are who they say they are. I know not to question them because I know they will lead me in the right direction. I really liked the sections, "The Greatest Commandment" and "Whose Son Is the Christ?" I think that verses 45 and 46 are very powerful.
Matthew 23
I think the main message in this chapter is to practice what you preach or to not be hypocritical. I think the lesson I can learn in this chapter is to practice what I preach. I can apply this to my life today. For example, I don't need to say something and go out and do another.
Great application, Dalton.
