March 15 - Luke 8

Part of today's passage is a very familiar parable--the parable of the soils.  Here's a quick summary:

1. The path - The seed falling along the path is when Satan took away the word from their hearts.
2. The rock - There are some who receive the word with joy but there is no root.  They believe for a little while but when times of testing come (and they will), they fall away.
3. The thorns - This is when someone hears the Word of God but the worries, riches and pressures choke out God's word.
4. The good soil - This represents those who hear the Word of God, retain it and persevere! By persevering, they produce a crop.

The question we each need to ask ourselves today is "which one am I?"  I pray you are like the seed that fell on the good soil.  Persevere!  It will be WELL worth it!!
